In news this week… Our Espresso, shop labels and info boards, the coffee club, a new outlet, markets and vans, new tests, and lots of roasting. First up, thanks to everyone that took part in our espresso trials. It’s really helped us to understand what you enjoy drinking, as well as some of the things you might in the future. If you didn’t get the opportunity, don’t worry – we have three more trials coming up soon. They’re all about Tea, decaf and soup.
We’ve had two hybrid espresso blends on the bar for the last few days, before we make the final switch to the new standard over the weekend which is a special combination of three fantastic origins, it’s Fairtrade and organic, it’s friendly to the rainforest and most importantly it tastes great! We think you’re really going to like it.
You may have also seen our info boards and labels in the shop which explain a little bit more about our coffees, where they come from, who makes them and what’s special about them. We’ll be writing a monthly newsletter soon too, about everything on the shelf and what’s coming soon.
We’re soon going to launch a coffee club, where for a yearly subscription of £50 – you’ll get to try a new coffee, fresh from the roastery every month. There will be other benefits too, like a 20% discount on extra beans and access to some of our cupping sessions.
We’ve been busy in the roastery, fulfilling orders for the shop and our wholesale customers and can also proudly announce that we’re now roasting coffee for Lussmann’s – Hertfordshire’s award winning independent restaurant group.
We’re also pleased to announce that we’ll be opening another new outlet locally in January, and we’ll be going out on the road every weekend too, introducing Hertfordshire coffee to lots of people we wouldn’t normally get the chance to meet. All this means that we will need more people to join our team, so we’re also creating 5 local jobs in the new year. They will be published on lulucoffee.co.uk in the next few days.
Thanks for all your support, from everyone at Lulu.
Jon, Jo, Katy, Chris, Bridie and Simeon.
